Beppe Marino was founded in 1972 right in Santo Stefano Belbo which is located in between Langhe and Monferrato, otherwise famous for production of Moscato d’Asti. A fully family run vineyard, the Marino family consisting of Beppe, his wife, Rosalba, and their son Maurice cultivates the vineyards at the top of the hills in Santo Stefano Belbo, Mango D’Alba, and Castelnuovo Calcea, which stands at 400m above sea level.
The winery currently owns total of 13 hectares of vineyards scattered between areas of great prestige for the cultivation of vines. Grapes from these areas of Valdivilla, Marini, and Riforno Moparone are widely known for its finesse that is appreciated in Italy and around the world. They are namely Muscat, Barbera, Dolcettom Moscato D’Asti, and Freisa using various methods of vinification which gives rise to the wines that gets labelled “Beppe Marino”.
The cellar is located mainly in Marini. Although modern technologies for wine making is readily available, wine produced at this winery still follows the old traditions in order to guarantee the consumers the highest quality of the wines.
Much of the land in Lange is fascinating as it is ancient. Back in time, the area featured deep and narrow valleys of which due to soil erosion have led to additional debris brought on by the waters, which results the soil to consist of limestone, clay, and marl. This is highly beneficial for the vines as it penetrates deep into the soil for the minerals to enrich the wine while keeping the balance of the ground and allowing the clusters of grapes to reach perfect ripeness in the perfect climatic conditions of the area.
