La Mannella, on the border of the historical ‘Montosoli’ cru, lies on calcareous clay topsoil. Being the cooler climate area within the hill of Montalcino, 300m/asl, it is characterised by important daytime temperature shifts, even in summertime, that lead to pronounced aromatics and fine texture. Very compact and stony topsoil lend to distinctive personality, refined and embracing tannins along with the typical fresh lift of Sangiovese grown in Montalcino.

Tasting Notes

Ripe black cherry and forest fruit flavours with light perfumed fragrant spices on the nose. The extended maturation in large oak barrels gives the wine fantastic concentration and a silky texture making it stand out from the crowd with a lovely balance of richness and elegance.

Goes well with Venison and Florentine steaks.
