In 2015 at Tenuta Casteani they celebrate the birth of a new wine, which bears the name of Turione, the sprout of asparagus, a vegetable that finds its natural habitat in the lands of there estate. As the asparagus is representative of there territory, so Turione, the wine that bears its name, was born to represent the company and its philosophy of wine production.

Turione is a bright red wine with violet hues, obtained from their 70% Sangiovese and 30% merlot grapes. A wine with a body and excellent structure, it is at the same time elegant and immediate.

Tasting Notes

Vinified in steel, it offers hints of juicy red fruit to the nose, a pleasant light spiciness of black pepper, licorice and roots. In the mouth it is full and enveloping and well balanced in acidity and softness, closes on the fruit in a long and pleasant persistence.

Excellent with red meats and game and to try with aged cheeses.
