Barolo is a world renown wine producing region located in Piemont, Northwest of Italy. Often known as the “King of Italian Wines”, this rich and deeply concentrated full-bodied wine easily convinces any wine drinker of its reputation.
Bartolomeo Cavalier was founded in 1924. Thru three generations, and almost a century, of viticulture and wine-making tradition, the family has strived to produce the perfect Barolo wines by well-controlled fermentation process and careful use of oak barrels, yet maintaining the style of what a traditional Barolo should be like – dense and powerful but displays austerity and elegance.
This Barolo wine is harvested from grapes that are from one of the family prized single vineyards, “Altenasso”, located in one of the well-recognized Barolo wine producing village of Castiglione Falletto, well positioned in the heart of Barolo. Rich fertile soil in that area gives the grapes a rich concentrated flavours while the calcareous mixed and cool climatic condition allow the retention of bright acidity, resulting a well-balanced and long-lived wine.
Very intense yet pleasant nose of red fruits, roses and violets, with hints of spice and vanilla. On the palate, it is significantly full-bodied, wide, vigorous and austere but harmoniously balanced, velvety, and beautifully elegant.
For international food - recommended pairing with beef stew, braised lamb and game meat.
For local delights - recommended pairing with braised duck, rich Malay lamb stew.
